Salta Capital, Salta, Argentina

Overlooking Salta.
Dear Reader,
I am writing to you from a café on the Plaza 9 de Julio, the main square of Salta Capital. To my left, a group of elderly ladies with shiny red nails and neat coifs sips coffees, chatting away animatedly. In the square, school kids sit on benches, merchants hustle their wares, and pigeons waddle around the feet of passersby.
The sky is overcast, and the air soft, humid, mild.
This afternoon I’ll head back to the Valleys to rejoin Adrien and our pup. There has been much activity up at GualfÃn, and the house is full of workers. Adrien has begun the project of revamping the sala, with a view to receiving tourists this year for the first time.
In Pucarilla, new vines have been planted, and the field hands are preparing for the yearly poda – pruning.
Our vineyard at Pucarilla.
Speaking of vines, if you’ve never tasted our pure Malbec wine, Tacana, Bonner Private Wines has a very special offer for you, dear Reader.
Subscribe to the Club today to receive four bottles of Bonner Family Tacana Vintages every three months, with a $50 discount on each shipment. Click here to check it out!
I’ll be in touch from the Valley.
Abrazos,
Mariah
P.S. On Sunday evening there was a mass in the nearby church of San Fransisco – the sound of the singing rang through the street.
The mass.
Looks lovely and I’d love to subscribe to the Wine but it’s off limits to us Brits!
Wish I could say Hello in person! Your descriptive talents must be a family trait and Anya and Joel must be proud of you along with your satirically wise Dad. I have a song/poem named Hello. I’ll try and send it to you.
