Ah. Time to think and ponder, without constant interruptions. There is much to do, but also time when we can do nothing, waiting for something else to happen. Then we have time to think, to remember, and to self-examine. But to do this, it is important to live far away from distractions. With modern technology - and where we have a cell-phone signal - distractions are always at hand, if we permit them.

There is a lot of turn overs where you are. From an isolate place, where silence and no motion seem to rule. Then with no warning, where children educated by adults are in the midst of celebrating the preparation of baptism, confirmations. All this represents a very involved situation!! Living in a monacal and exceptional world of beauty and silence. And with villages of old and young who are vibrant with rural and pious lives! In many ways, the source of life is of its mysterious treasure! I love the contrast! Elisabeth

Beautiful writing as ever . I’m not entirely sure why but it made me think of the following verse:

To every thing there is a season,

and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, a time to die;

a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal;

a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh;

a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;

a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose;

a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew;

a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate;

A time of war, and a time of peace.
